As CEO, Goldin is responsible for the long-term strategic vision of Voyager Search, overseeing everything from sales to product direction to balancing resources in order to help the company achieve its goals. He has spent more than 20 years in the geospatial industry, bringing to Voyager the unique perspective of where the industry has been, what it needs, and where it’s going. It’s his devotion to finding a better way for organizations to find, share, and use data – along with his experience in developing software products and relationships – that drove him to co-found Voyager Search.
Prior to Voyager, Goldin worked for two years leading his own consultancy, called Spatially Enabled, where he served as an advisor for a variety of sectors around the world, from defense to utilities. In this work, he helped organizations build and deliver geospatial solutions, with an emphasis on developing commercial software products and large enterprise solutions.
Before that, he worked at GIS industry giant Esri for 11 years, where he held a variety of positions in areas such as Professional Services and Product Management – in addition to developing a program for Strategic Partner Alliances. In his last position at Esri he was Program Manager of the Esri Developer Network (EDN). The Network, which he created himself, consisted of the EDN software subscription, a web based community, and developer resources, as well as the first ESRI Developer Summit.
Goldin has been invited to speak at numerous industry events and tradeshows throughout his career, and has also been featured in CIO Review, Spatial Reserves, Apogeo Spatial, and GIScafé Magazines, among many others.
Goldin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Cincinnati. He lives in Redlands, California, with his wife and stepson, where he enjoys fly-fishing, fixing old cars, sports and bourbon – not necessarily in that order.
