Documentation Intern

Voyager Search is currently seeking a driven individual with leadership skills and technical writing experience for a Documentation Intern position. This is a full-time summer internship that could lead to an entry-level position for the right person. The world is seeing an explosion in the amount and variety of location-based information. As a result, organizations amass enormous amounts of data, yet lack robust tools to organize and view it. Voyager Search, founded by leaders in the GIS and Lucene/Solr communities, is at the intersection of data and inquiry, providing software for searching, cataloging, retrieving, and using data. We are a nimble, growing software company focused on bringing the best enterprise open source geospatial software to organizations around the world.

The ideal candidate will be a creative person who can help invent, develop, and own enhancements to our core product while working in a collaborative environment. We are a geographically distributed team working with well-established Agile processes. This position is located in our Redlands, CA headquarters but the rest of our team members work from Canada, Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Michigan, and Prague. We long ago shed the 9-to-5 office-job mentality, so you’ll need to be comfortable exchanging information digitally and reaching out to people you might never have met to get help when you need it. We have daily team scrum calls that help keep us connected when everyone is so far-flung. Our company is growing quickly, so this role offers plenty of opportunity.
