Job Description

As VP of Sales, you will be responsible and accountable for all sales efforts across the entire Voyager Search business. You will lead and coordinate the formulation of sales goals and sales strategy, making sure these are aligned with the overall business strategy. You will define the sales process and execute that process through leading on strategic sales opportunities and managing your sales team to ensure they meet their targets. Above all, you will need to be flexible and step up to the plate when called upon.


  • Work with and manage a portfolio of strategic accounts
  • Create a culture of success where team members strive to meet or exceed goals
  • Develop plans and strategies for growing sales and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Recruit, develop and manage the sales team to deliver profitable growth
  • Define and implement a successful structure where internal sales, external sales and partners are working in a harmonious and successful manner
  • Develop the sales goals for individual team members, creating processes to manage these goals
  • Prepare sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support sales objectives
  • Define processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements as required
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting to the leadership team on a weekly basis
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Manage key customer relationships to generate additional business and ensure repeatable software maintenance revenue
  • Participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Work with the executive team on medium and long range planning
  • Work with the heads of professional services and support to identify and resolve issues that hurt sales and inhibit customer success
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships

  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree in a related discipline (e.g. Business, Computer Science, GIS), and/or have demonstrable experience of business acumen or similar technical consultancy
  • Experience successfully managing a sales team
  • A track record of sales management and sales growth
  • An understanding of GIS, search and/or enterprise software sales
  • Proficient in the use of Salesforce, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in your market and come with rolodex of upper management contacts
  • Entrepreneurial with a drive to develop and grow Voyager’s business as well as your role and skills
  • Organized with the ability to manage many tasks, projects and relationships concurrently.  Delivering a customer experience that makes the customer notice
  • Positive and proactive with an enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to embrace new skills
  • Driven to deliver and be fearless to challenge yourself

Additional Information

We understand the importance of investing in our employees and offer competitive salaries and benefits. Voyager Search is headquartered in Redlands, CA. Travel to and from this office and client sites is required, but this role may be based anywhere in the US.
